It's the Pedal on the Right. Get ready to sample these city and rural drives suggested by other members of the '02 cult.
By Amy K. Hooper
The whole point of this exercise involving automobiles is to put your foot on that little pedal on the right. To get from one spot to another. To explore. To have fun. You'll most likely have fun if you try out the drives suggested by comrades in spirit who live across the country and in British Columbia. These tour guides have tested the routes themselves in cities like Berkeley, California, or Caledon, Onterio, Canada. If you live in the D.C. area and plan to attend the Mid-Atlantik '02 Fest on April 29 in Virginia, check out the recommended routes for getting the most out of your weekend drive time. But a good drive doesn't necessarily cover great distances or encompass stunning sights.
One of my favorite routes is the one that takes me and Tank Girl home to Costa Mesa at the end of the work day, when we enjoy the curves on Irvine Avenue as it winds around Upper Newport Bay. It's a simple pleasure, one that I can enjoy Monday through Friday.
A good drive is any route that allows you to enjoy the attributes of your car, the qualities of the road and the scenery around you. So with that in mind, find a good drive and share it with us: ba02_mail@yahoo.com
